From February 7th to March 9th, 2020, Quebec City's Old Port and Old Quebec City will be illuminated with playful, dreamlike and poetic works by six artists from here and abroad. Stroll through Le jardin d'hiver, an artistic circuit specially designed by Manif d'Art to amaze children.
On Place D'Youville and in Old Port, illustrations and photos will be in the spotlight. In the upper town, Mathieu Labrecque’s shapes and colours recalling cartoons from a bygone era as well as Estée Preda and her works inspired by tales and legends from stories for children. In Old Port, Pierre&Marie’s toasted marshmallows burn over time, exposing the aesthetic evolution of the object.
Architectural video projections including three animated films will also be offered during the tour. Two of them will be projected on the wall in front of Auberge: Quebec artist Élise Simard will present 'La Traversée' and Lei Lei, a Chinese artist, will propose a playful and fascinating production, 'Magic Cube and Ping Pong'.
Duo Pierre&Marie, multidisciplinary and self-taught artists, will present a work specially created for Le jardin d'hiver. A huge, shimmering, plush heart will be hung on a tree in Old Quebec City neighbourhood.
